Quinta Das Pedras is a genuine farmhouse carefully converted to English Standards and situated in lovely countryside a few miles outside Sao Bras. The journey from Faro airport takes about 25 minutes and is an easy and straightforward drive.
This is an agricultural area farmed for citrus fruit and olives. There are a few other houses nearby but no tourist developments. The house has retained its essential character and now provides all modern facilities - Sky Television, hi-fi, video - and even the plugs are English!
The lounge is extremely comfortable, spacious and tastefully furnished with a well stocked library of books. The dining area adjoins the lounge through an arch and has a fine traditional Algarvian vaulted ceiling which together with the stone floors gives an authentic, rustic feel throughout.
The kitchen is typically farmhouse - quite large enough for family meals - well-equipped to a high standard with electric cooker, washing machin, microwave and two fridges.
A barbecue and dining area outside, ideal for open air meals which are so much a part of holiday life in Portugal.
Sleeping accommodation consists of a master double bedroom upstairs (with private upper terrace for private sun bathing and ensuite shower room). There are two twin bedrooms downstairs, (one with ensuite shower room, the other with a bathroom next door).
The gardens are particularly attractive and extend to over an acre of well-tended flower beds and bushes with a peaceful secluded area to the side.
The pool is 10 metres by 5 metres entered by steps and at the deep end a ladder. Its depth is 1 to 2 metres. Both the pool and garden can be floodlit at night which creates a stunning effect and invites a late evening barbecue with an extra swim afterwards. There is plenty of pool-side and garden furniture.
